Hi All,

I have managed to take the 7x64 to the range to get some speed readings. Can someone have a look and see if I am getting around what is expected, and if there is another load to try?

7x64 Brenneke
Norma cae, 67.1gr H2O
Nosler Accubond 160gr
CCI200
COL 84mm
S365 (latest batch)
600mm barrel

with 49.5gr S365 I got an average of 2616fps

with 52.9gr S365 I got an average of 2761fps

I got a reasonable group at 49.5gr (good, but not great) and then widening - it tightened up again after 52gr closing to about 0.8MOA at around 52.6gr.

I suspect my load would be between 52gr and 52.6gr - any input is appreciated!

With a long leade, as most 7x64's have, there is usually a shift in node speed and that might explain your better results at 52-52.6gr. Pmax might then only be reached further down the barrel and explains the higher loads to compensate for the effect.

Dankie Almal,

As jou dop baie vol raak kan 'n langer TPL dalk help.
