Byvoorbeeld:

Model 80 vanaf 19xx tot 19xx
Model 83 vanaf 19xx tot 19xx
Model 90 vanaf 19xx tot 19xx

Baie dankie as daar iemand is wat dalk kan help!

Following my post above. Is there anyone who can possibly help me with this.

What is the significance of the #0003 stamped on the barrel of my Musgrave Mod 83
And
Does anyone perhaps know the twist rate? .308. model 83 21' barrel?

As far as I know the 003 means it was the 3rd rifle made in this range.

You can measure the twist rate by pushing a tight fitting brush into the bore with a free turning handle on the rod. Make a mark on the rod and measure the distance you push the rod into the bore for it to make one revolusion.

I would think the mod 80 was made from 1980 onwards, the 83 from 1983 and the 90 from 1990.

The serial no. indicates the 3rd rifle of that particular model. If in very good condition, a serious Musgrave collector might want it.

The mod 83 is supposed to have a 22" barrel (measured from breechface to muzzle) with a 1:12" twist in the 308. It is basically the "lightweight" version of the mod 80.

The 90 is very similar to the 80, except for the dovetails on the action. All the actions look a lot like a Winchester mod 70 (post '64) to me.

You should measure your's to be sure.

Hulle was gewoonlik baie netjies ingebed, sonder vullers.
