Gebruik scented candles. Jou herlaai kamer gaan ten minste lekker ruik.[emoji23]

I am happy to report that I was able to get to speak with Mr Mark Pledger from Rapala this morning and he has agreed to test the rifle with 73gr 75gr and 80gr varmint type bullets in the 3400-3500fps speed range.

I have to make a few assumptions here so this predicition may not be quite accurate so take it as a guideline only
Assuming the same COL (63.60mm) and burn rate factor as the Lapua Scenar 69 grain bullets

Node 4 would be at roughly 3080 to 3100 fps at 56000 psi
Node 3 would be roughly 3220 fps but at 67000 psi

The above with 80 grain A-Max bullets

S365 will get you to a +- 3200 fps accurate node within safe pressure

That's wat I reckoned the n540 is burning to fast for the heavier bullets.Just for comparison what would the node be for the 69gr scenar with the s 365 lot 89?

+- 3490 fps with the default burn rate @ +- 54800 psi
+- 3460 fps with a heavily inflated burn rate @ +-56500 psi

Thanks Dale
Rapala said their load with the n540 34.7 gr and 69 gr scenar was predicted to at 55000psi ??

Dale what would the tpl be for the 80 gr amax bullet if only 5.5mm of the bearing surface is seated into the case?
The max tpl for the 75gr amax is 69mm.

Apologies. Disregard this.
It is for the 69 grain Scenar
For the 80 gn ELD M would be 65.3mm

For the 80 gn A max would be 67.8mm

Ok that still gives 1.2 mm jump theoretically.

Apologies again. I used the 80 grain A max instead of ELD-M
COL with 5.5mm of shank in the neck would be 65.30mm with the ELD-M

You wont necessarily have 1.2mm jump as the two different bullets have different ogives.
You will need to measure max COL in your chamber with the ELD-M

No worries this is an academic exercise ,lets see how they fair with the varmint bullets
Rifle is so used to travelling when I removed the scope it jumped in the hard-case by itself .This thread is going to be quite for a while .

Geez.
Now I am getting confused.
Do you intend using the A Max or ELD-M ?

The amax appears to have been replaced by the eldm in production so I would prefer that the rifle would shoot eldm in 73gr or 75gr and from my experience it wil only do so at velocities below 3200fps.
