Good evening

I am looking for a small scope to go on my .22LR for target shooting up to 75m
I am considering the Bushnell Rimfire 3-12x40 which has side parralax focus.
Does anyone have any experience with this scope?

Any other options you can recommend.

Cheers
Sean

At 50m we have found that you can see shots on paper only when magnfication reaches 18x or more. This is especially true when shots hit black areas on targets.

Sean, I’ve used a Hawk 3-9 with milldots effectively on silhouettes up to 100m. Very nice and parallax is sharp from 15m.

I have a 4,5-14x44 Minox that I wanted to mount on my one .22 that I will likely sell as I have other plans now. Pm me if you are interested.

@ Tripod - what you are saying makes sense but would a scope with up to 18 or 20 magnification not be a bit big and thus ruin the aesthetics of Model 1 Brno?

@ Pappabeer and Stephan - thanks for the referral. I will check them out.

Has nobody invested in the Bushnell Rimfire that has some feedback to share?

Hawke make a specific 22LR scope.

Available in HV or SV

Subtensions from 50-200 yards. Great toy for range. About R2500

I have the Bushnell Rimfires but its 3-9 magnification. Works very well. We usually use them on the “finger” from 25m out to about 50m. Like any “up to 9” magnification you will struggle to see holes on a 100m

The Bushnell Elite 6500 in the for sale section would be ideal.
It focusses down to 10 yards and the glass on those are excellent.

I have the same scope on my pellet gun and it works fantastic.

I have a hawke Vantage 6-24x44 on mine, works absolutely fantastic... a bit big on the rifle, but for target shooting work it makes a lot of sense. for hunting it might be a bit big. They are about R4.5k if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the input guys.
I decided on the Bushnell Rimfire 3-12 x 40 over the Leupold Freedom Rimfire.
I found the image clearer at max magnification.
The scope is a little bulky and heavy but i think its a good start for R2517.00
