Kommentaar op teleskoop

Post by Stopforth4710 » Wed Nov 16, 2011 7:16 am

When it comes to scopes, the general principle should apply. General principle being get the best you can afford, work out how much you can spend, find something else you can do without like rent, food etc, add that amount, borrow some more, and then start shopping for a scope.

Many people are very happy with budget scopes, and are very vocal in telling you that you need not buy top of the range, but if they get serious about shooting, or use them to earn money, or shoot at night, or just shoot a lot, check with them in a year or two, they have sold the "you don't need a better" scope, bought a higher end scope, and are already eying a better scope than that one. Better to buy the very best you can afford, and reduce the number of times you "upgrade".

Most of the "Go to" guys in the shooting world will tell you that the scope should be at least double the value of the rifle. If you cannot see it, (Glare, bad light, bright to shadow et al) you cannot shoot it.

Piet,

As ek lank genoeg sonder kos en diesel kon bly, of my bank bestuurder kon afpers, het ek al 'n Nightforce of Zeiss gehad, ek weet nie hoe nie, maar eendag sal ek een koop, net vir daardie tye wat my Leupold net nie genoeg is nie. As ek hom kan skiet, word ek betaal, en my shares bly hoog by die kliente, as ek hom moet laat gaan, verloor ek op twee plekke.

FM,

Thanks for the praise, but you are too kind, it's not wisdom, it's just some stuff I have picked up along the way.

May your 2012 be your best year yet for you and yours as well.

Duurder is gewoonlik beter, maar ek kyk so effe anders daarna.
