Ek het self eers die naweek op dit af gekom op Facebook, ek is glad nie verbind met die baan op die oomblik nie.

Hoop daar is manne van daai wereld wat betrokke wil raak.

Ek het vanoggend vinnig gesels met Lizelle en aangesluit. Sal as ek eers by die huis is hoor hoe ek kan bydra om die baan van die grond af te kry.

Hulle beplan 'n 300m baan, maar daar is nog baie werk.

Ek was nog net so twee keer daar maar ek ondersteun enige plek waar 'n man nog kan skiet.

Die baan is toegemaak a.g.v. 'n klagte en hier is 'n petisie om dit weer oop te maak as julle ook dalk wil ondersteun.

Ek volg ma self ook net wat op die Facebook Groep gesê word, ek is nie op hul whatsapp groep nie.

Dit lyk my net soos rondom alle skietbane is dit bloot net 'n geraas klagte.
Ek verstaan dit is munisipale grond wat spesifiek gehuur word vir die doel as skietbaan.
SBM (Saldanha Bay Municipality) Is seker nou ma net versigtig na hulle 'n formele klagte gekry het.
Dit lyk of die skietbaan al die regte roetes volg en met die regte mense in kontak is om die nodige te doen of SBM gerus te stel als is wettig.

Ek wil in die nuwe jaar terugtrek St Helenabaai toe so sal die baan ook dan meer kan ondersteun.
Die baan op die plaas agter my huis daar is ook stopgesit.

The subject line, recent telephone conversation between yourself and the writer and the advice received from ADV Thys Giliomee as reference;
We address your at the instants of the sole director of the owner of the Farm Restant Van Klein Plaasie, JS Du Toit who briefly instructs that:
*. He has together with other members of the broader Hopefield community suffered and continues to suffer damages in astronomic proportions as a direct result of the vociferous gun fire and other high volume activities emanating from the Hopefield Shooting Club situated on the municipal land with which Restant Van Klein Plaasie shares a common boundary;
*. The damages in the form of losses to the farms springbok and Oryx herds only to date already exceed R200000 (two hundred thousand Rands);
*. It is a well known fact that these animals which is a source of national pride for all South Africans can simply not thrive in a noise polluted environment, nor can farming operations with game of this type be operated sustainably given said circumstances;
*. The daily onslaught on the habitat of our assortment of indigenous wild life generally, but specifically that of the springbok and South-African Oryx as members of the world-renowned species of large buck found in the region in the name of activities such as recreation as in this instance should for obvious reasons be curtailed and guarded against;
We have received further instructions in the light of the aforegoing facts to request the following information from your good office as we hereby do:
Full particularity on the zoning status of the municipal land on which the Hopefield Shooting Club is situated;
Confirmation on whether the said shooting club previously received any departures or relaxations from the aforesaid zoning regulations. If yes, copies of such exemptions together with the relevant associated applications are requested;
A copy of the agreement (lease agreement) in terms whereof the said municipal land is occupied (by the previously mentioned shooting club);
Copies of all motivations and / or applications (for the leasing of land) made by the said shooting club in respect of the municipal land in question;
Confirmation of whether any study on the likely impact of the vociferous gun fire and other high volume activities of the shooting club would be on animal farming in the area was commissioned prior to the conclusion of the previously mentioned contract. If yes, a copy of the results / findings of such study is requested. If no, full reasons for the decision not to carry out a study of this kind in the circumstances is requested;
Confirmation on whether the owners of “neighbouring properties” consented to the operations of the shooting club prior to the conclusion of the said agreement and if yes, copies of such consent is requested;
Confirmation on whether any additional rules regarding safety and / or noise levels were imposed upon the shooting club or its operations by yourselves;

Ek sien die ou kla dat wild glad nie in 'n noise polluted environment kan thrive nie. Wel... Stilbaai se bosbokke moet dan die uitsondering wees. Daar bly 'n paar op ons skietbaan en alhoewel die baan net 75m lank is, steur hulle hulle glad nie aan die geweer- en pistoolvuur nie. Dit het ek al by meer as een geleentheid self ervaar terwyl ek daar skiet. Dis maar sleg dat skietbane op verskeie plekke in die land onder die spervuur kom. Ek hoop julle kry die baan weer oopgestel.

Dankie Adri. Ek is maar altyd versigtig om op 'n wa te spring voor ek al die feite het.
Dit wil voorkom of die plaas waar die skietbaan geleë is, in privaat besit is maar aan munisipale regulasies onderhewig is omrede dit binne die munisipaliteit se grense val.
Die buurman hou wild aan en ek kan verstaan dat dit nie aangenaam is om wild te besigtig terwyl die skote klap nie.
Die persoon wat die klagte in die epos geformuleer het, sit egter die pot lelik mis. Soos Koos meld, is wilde diere baie aanpasbaar en solank jy 'n fisiese afstand hou, sal hul nie sommer wegtrek nie.
Op ons privaat skietbaan is die klub se reël dat daar slegs op die teikens en gonge geskiet word en op geen lewendige dier nie. Daar woon tans 'n trop van omtrent 20 takbokke rondom die baan, sowel as bakoor jakkalse, steenbokke en 'n magdom voëls.
Wat wel nie daar voorkom nie is drentelaars en ander onwelkome gaste.
Indien die persoon geraasbesoedeling voorhou is dit wettiglik genoeg rede om die baan te sluit.
Sover my beperkte kennis strek het jy nie die munisipaliteit of enige iemand anders se toestemming nodig om 'n skietbaan op jou privaat grond aan te lê nie. Jy benodig slegs die nodige akkreditasie indien jy die baan aan die publiek wil oopstel.
Ek vertrou dat die klub sal seëvier en dat daar nie agteraf gekonkel sal word om die baan permanent te sluit nie.
