Starline brass - .243 Win

This is a review of 200 .243Win Starline brass.

The idea is to measure the brass as I use it and to update the measured values accordingly. They started out as normal .243Win but will be used in a .243Win AI off the bat.

Store:
Not bought from the big shop but rather an online store with super service, CV19 taken into consideration.

Packaging:
They were packed in the yellow plastic Starline packets @100 cases per packet.

Vernier used:
Frankford Aresenal digital jobbie

Scale:
Peregrine digital jobbie

General notes:
I unfortunately do not own a micrometer thus I couldn’t measure case neck thickness, the same way “Ultimate Reloader” does.
It seems like the cases take a beating in the plastic packaging bags, more so, than cases packaged in plastic boxes.
Case No.72 had a partial finger print on it when it came out the bag which might indicate factory inspection. Strangely though this case fell right in the middle of the average weight and case length out of the batch of 200.
Out of the 200, 27 cases had visually deformed/dented case necks/mouths.
All 200 cases have a lip on the case mouth from the manufacturing process which will need to be removed.
This with the afore mentioned deformed necks have prompted me to look for a .243Win full sizing die to remedy this (apologies for snooping on your “wanted” thread) expense which I was hoping to dodge.

Below are images off the cases and measurements taken to date.

Some of these seem oval but that is just the camera angle.

These are the “27 bad” apples who’s case necks/mouths are really bad.

Below a summary of the brass in their “from their mother state”

I will update the tables and values as I prime and fire form the brass to give a better indication of what their actual .243Win AI internal volume is.
