I was struggling to read / interpret the results so created my own table (attached) to try and make sense of the test.
I gave each element of the test a weighting (in yellow at the top) to try and come to some sort of overall result / ranking.
Its difficult to come to any firm conclusions without knowing the retail price and whether the silencer is a reflex or not (which is why I only gave the length a weighting of 5%). Also - its impossible to assess build quality and estimated durability from the test results but I hope this helps somehwat in making a decision re: which silencer might be better for you.
Cheers

Baie dankie en interessant. Ek sou net recoil 'n hoër rating as klank gee. Hoe meer recoil 'n silencer weg vat hoe beter. My opinie.
I thought the test was great and many thanks to all the contributors! My following comments are not criticism but genuine questions to provoke some thoughts and hopefully some feedback and guidance by the men in the know!
A couple of observations and questions:
1. The mass of the silencers did not correlate with the reduction in recoil. Or putting it differently, in this specific test, Newton's Laws apparently only accounted for a small proportion of the recoil reduction. Can we conclude that the lighter silencers that had a large amount of recoil reduction did so because of their design (retarding gas flow to generate an opposite force to the recoil direction)?
2. It would have been very interesting to have measured the MV of all the shots and compared with the MV of the unsilenced shots. This info would give us more discussion material about silencers increasing (or not) MV, and which silencers do it better.
3. I am curious as to how the rifle was fired (trigger activated) for each shot? In Sus-tac's videos on their website, the trigger is pulled by a person using a wire hook (I assume to supposedly remove the human component in pulling the trigger?) and some of the trigger pulls appear visually to be harder yanks than others - whatever the reality, this method does not remove the human variable completely. Can we be sure during this test that the same force was applied on each trigger pull? Obviously not all triggers break at the same level of force, so there may be a contributing variable there too.
4. Were all the silencers brand-new and unfired at the start of the test? If not, what effect does 'wear and tear' have on silencer performance (eroded baffles, carbon build-up etc)? Does a new silencer of the same design perform better or worse than a 'broken-in' one? Comparing a new silencer of one design with a used one of a different design throws in a whole new bunch of variables...

N silencer is soos n loop. Dis n “consumable”.
