Hello gents
Can anybody kindly help with any load data for 30-06 - 180gr?
I would like to load the following :
Powder : Somchem S365 - LOT 92
Bullets : Sierra Pro Hunter - 180gr
Primer : CCI 200
Cases : PMP
I have loaded 49gr and 54gr of S365 but my groupings are all over the place at 100m.
I'm not really sure if the Lot 92 - S365 is too slow burning or what!
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: 30-06 - Load Data - 180gr Sierra Pro-Hunter
There could be many reasons why the groups are not acceptable. My load for a Remington Mod 700 22" barrel is S365 (cant remember now which lot) 53 gr with PMP cases CCI 200 primers and Sierra 180 gr Pro Hunters at around 2500 ft p s The total OAL is 82mm Groups nicely .5 -.75 moa at 100 m Please keep in mind this is for my rifle and you must be careful to use my loading info for your rifle. Play it safe and consult the reloading manual from Somchem

Go to the reloading section and specifically the Quick Load (QL) section. Read up on OBT and QL and supply the data on your rifle as well as charges used and speed achieved (what chrony did you use)

Try changing the OAL. Take the powder charge with the best group and load a couple with different OAL's (change them with 0.2mm or 0.3mm). Just make sure that the bullet doesn't touch the lands.

Hi Guys
Just an update.
I have taken the advice from responses on this post and experimented with different loads.
My first step was to adjust my OAL to 82mm.
I have loaded with S365 from 52,5gr, 53gr, 53.5gr and 54gr.
My most consistent load which I am quite happy with is as follows :
Powder : S365 - 53gr
Bullet : 180gr - Sierra Pro Hunter
Primer : CCI 200
Cases - PMP
OAL - 82mm
Barrel Lenght : 22inch
Thank you all for the input and advice - much appreciated guys..
Now i just need to run my rounds through my chrono to see what speeds I'm getting.

Sabz, have you acquired a copy of QL? It is very easy to send QL data files that you can read into the system and have all the info at your fingertips. Send me the data via a PM and include your Email. I can then show you the finer details of QL.
