Die ontstaan van Oudendag Dips

So waar kom die naam Oudendag Dips vandaan? Dit is dan so n onaardige naam maar tog rol dit oor die tong. Amper so iets soos McDonalds. Soos een van die eienaars van McDonalds sou se: “It’s not just the system, Dick. It’s the name.”

Nou ja, so ook met Oudendag Dips. Dis gebore uit n vraag wat my jong seun eendag vir my gevra het: Pappa, wat het julle in die oudendae gebruik om vis te vang? Maklik Ruben, plain mielies, ertwurms, custard pap en kerrie pap.

Ek besluit toe om terug te gaan na die “basics”. Ek vra n baie goeie vriend van my Victor Booysen om my te help om twee visvang dips te ontwikkel. Een Kerrie en een Custard. Die res is geskiedenis.

En die geboorte van Oudendag Dips. En dit werk. Darom ons slagspreek “Fishing made easy...”

Die storie eindig nie daar nie. Ons sit nou huidiglik met sestien verskillende geure dips, tiger nuts, mielies, floaties en partical mix/voer.

Ons is baie opgewonde om die produkte met julle te deel,
skakel ons gerus as julle meer wil uitvind.

So where does Oudendag Dips come from? It’s a very strange name indeed, yet striking. Something like McDonalds. If I may take words from one of McDonalds co-founders: “It’s not just the system, Dick. It’s the name.”

Same with Oudendag Dips, it’s in the name. It came about a question my young son asked me one day on a fishing trip: “Pappa, wat het julle in die Oudendae gebruik om vis te vang” Directly translated: Dad, what did you guys use to catch fish with in the olden days? Easy my son, plain maize, earthworms, custard dough and curry dough.

So I’ve decided to go back to “basics”. I’ve contact my good friend Victor Booysen to help me develop two fishing dips, Custard and Curry. And the rest is history.

The birth of Oudendag dips. And our dips work. Hence our saying: “Fishing made easy...”

We’ve currently developed sixteen different dips (so much for going with the basics), tiger nuts, maize, floaties and partical mix.
