Scope with generous eye relief.

Post by vossie1 »

Good day Gents.

I am looking for a scope for my 300H&H, it is currently sporting a Rudolph 4-16x50. Not a bad scope but eye relief and late afternoon shooting is a bit bad. I am looking to put something with good eye relief and decent optics for all shooting conditions. Don't need to be a long range scope. Anything up to 500m will suffice. I had a nice Swarovski 4-12x50 BT that worked well on my Sako 222rem but cant remember if the eye relief was good. I liked the BT turret on the Swarovski scopes, the pre set ranges is a win for me. Don't want to break the bank but something like the Z 3/5 with BT can work just don't know about the eye relief. My LOP is 14"

What would the experts recommend?

I have a Z5 3-18x with BT Swaro on my 300H&H and cannot praise it enough. Eye relief is good and covers 99% of my hunting needs.
To answer your question, the eye relief on this scope is apparently 95mm, which is about as much as you'll get with any conventional riflescope
