The 2016 Hunting Proclamation has not been published. We hope it will be before the Hunting Season opens.

However, the 2015 one still applies until the 2016 one is published.

DEDEAT apologies for the confusion and for any inconvenience caused by the conflicting statements which have been circulating about the commencement date of the hunting season.
The Government Printer has indicated that the 2016 EC Provincial Hunting Proclamation will be published on Monday 30 May 2016. They will publish it on their website, http://www.gpwonline.co.za for anyone to download.

Herewith an extract of the e-mail below giving a clear indication that the hunting season will open officially on 28 May 2016:

This then serves as notice that stakeholders can make arrangements to start their Hunting Season on the 28th of May 2016 as per the Draft 2016 Provincial Hunting Proclamation.
