Cobus filters gaan nie werk met daai X-straal plaat van jou nie. Dimmers het groot deel van filters se werk oorgevat maar "never say never" as dit by jakke kom nie. Ek weet van etlikke ervare jak jagters wat nie veld toe gaan somder sy rooi filter nie. Word nou wel nie elke dag gebruik nie maar as hy nodig is doen hy sy werk.

Ek het n prototipe lig vir Lightforce getoets, dit is LED, rechargeable, met n dim funksie, ek het drie jakkalse met die lig geskiet, daar is egter n paar funksies wat ek, en Raven, nie mee tevrede was nie, ons het dit so op ons toetsverslae deurgegee, en sal maar sien wat daarvan word, lig skein goed, het n remote dim funksie, en nog n paar interresante features, sal maar moet sien of LF na ons gaan luister, of nie.......op die foto is die liggie op my geweer

Ek dink nie die liggie gaan ooit die 170's en 240's op ons gewere vervang nie, MAAR ek dink ook tog hulle sal n plek he.....namiddag roepie en die son vang jou, of so, in vergelyking met n 170, nee kan nie regtig se nie....dink wel jy sal maklik n jak op 180m geskiet kry op die helder setting.......

Nightforce Nighthunter Test Report
My name is Francois Marais, I am amongst other things a professional problem animal controller, shooting Black back Jackal, Caracal, and sometimes Leopard at night, using the calling method. My standard calling equipment consists of a 240mm LIGHTFORCE light, on a special machined bracket, running through a dimmer (rheostat), any accurate gun with adequate telescopic sight, a shooting chair witch can rotate 360 degrees with a slip ring system to have 12V current continuous for the light. A Foxpro caller, and a Toyota Land Cruiser Pick-up.
This system accounted for many Jackals and a few cats that were eradicated from farmlands…..

I have been to the IWA gun trade show in Germany in 2012, and saw that LIGHTFORCE had a new small light out, but everything was very hush-hush as all was not fully tested on this light. Much to my surprise, I was contacted by Mr. Hento Maritz, owner of the OUTDOOR CENTRE shop in Windhoek, Namibia, to do a test and evaluation on the new NIGHTFORCE NIGHTHUNTER spotlight. I’ve been using NIGHTFORCE products for 10+ years and knew that I will be testing a quality product.
The light came with all the necessary brackets and chargers, lenses, green and red, as well as a remote switch, and the normal paperwork as well as a very handy carry bag.
I put the bracket on my scope and attached the light to it, the light itself was VERY light and attached in a very simple but secure way to its rail, and it will fit any picatinny rail for that matter.
I checked that everything was working, but couldn’t get the remote switch to work, try as I might, not even when holding it right next to the light. I decided to give the light a go anyway and went out to the veld.
The sequence of the switch, at the back of the light is in the wrong order, I would like an on/off switch, and another switch, or the remote switch to toggle between dim/bright options.
I called a jackal in, using the dim option and shining over the jackal, and when it was about 80-100m away, I switched the bright light on, and shot the jackal. On the shot however the light completely died, and tried as I might, I couldn’t get it to work again, so I decided to return home. I just have to mention here that I was using a .223 Remington rifle with Varmint profile barrel, so the recoil was the minimum.
Next morning I had to take the batteries out, assemble them again, to get the light working. The problem seem to be with the “tunnel” wherein each battery fits, even with the heavy retaining spring, the battery seemed to get stuck during recoil, and couldn’t return to its original position and therefore couldn’t make contact to make the light shine again…..
The way we do calling, is shining the light every 45sec for the duration of about 15sec. To see how much the batteries would take, I switched the on at bright, and left it on for over two hours, when I returned, it was still shining bright, I actually did two stands that night, approximately two hours calling time, before the batteries died on me. I am thus fully satisfied that the batteries will last one night’s calling when done like we do it. I would like this light to have some 12V input somewhere, for those unforeseen times when the batteries may just not make it.
All in all I think that this will be a very well-constructed light, given all the additional things are complied to it as stipulated on the paperwork accompanying the light, but I do feel that there may be some things that need some attention, all on that later……..
On one of the stands I shot two jackals, a pair, that came in together, a most satisfying experience…..without the light dying on me again.
Herewith all the things I like about this light set-up:
1. Very neat and secure carry bag with place for all the accessories.
2. Very light weight, does not affect the handling of the rifle.
3. Easy to put on the rifle and remove, could double as a flashlight when you want to retrieve your quarry.
4. Shine very bright for a light of this size.
5. I like the option to recharge the batteries from a lighter plug.
6. I like the option that I can mount the light on any picatinny rail, anywhere.
7. I like the remote switch idea, just wish I could get it to work.
8. I like the sleep mode feature on the light, this mode assures that the light won’t switch on by accident and drain the batteries while in the bag.
Herewith all the things I didn’t like on this light.
1. Switch on the back for putting the light on and bright/dim is in the wrong order, I would prefer one switch for on/off, and another, even the remote switch for bright/ dim.
2. Please sort out the issue with the batteries not making contact after a shot, this issue will even be more obvious with a heavy recoiling rifle. I believe if the batteries can move freely in their sleeves, they will be able to resume contact, even after a brief spell of no light, like a quarter second.
3. I know that a LED bulb is not supposed to die, but if this should happen, will it be easy to replace it? On a normal LF this is no big issue and you can continue hunting after a couple minutes with a new bulb in place.
4. Would it be possible to give this light a bit of a tube on the end of the reflector? This is to give it more of a tunnel vision, helping that the light doesn’t light up too much of the car. We use normal plant pots to do the same thing on regular NF lights
5. It would be much appreciated if you can make the NIGHTHUNTER acceptable for an outsourced external power source, like a battery pack or maybe even 12V current from the vehicle…..
I am of the opinion that there will be a very good market for these small lightweight hunting lights, and very happy that I was given the chance to do some recommendations in the design of this light.

As ek kyk hoe vinnig die LED tegnologie ontwikkel.
Kyk na wat se straal n Bright Light gooi.
Ek sien gemaklik n bok met die blote oog op 400m.
Sal dinge nie lank vat voor die tipe LED's die 170's en 240's vervang nie...

Prototipe beteken die lig is nog nie in produksie nie, dit gaan nog n tydjie wees voor ons hom oppi rakke sien, en LF weet ons mos is nie goedkoop nie.....Ek het n prototipe lig vir Lightforce getoets, dit is LED, rechargeable......

Ek wil ook net noem met my ondervinding dat 'n led lig nie in duinserige, mistige omstandighede so goed werk soos 'n gewone LF met 'n dimmer nie.

Dimmer met Strobe-funksie!!
Ek het laasweek met my vriend Henk Ellis wat die dimmers maak bietjie gebrainstorm om 'n strobe knoppie te fit op sy dimmers...vir daai jakkalse wat nie stop vir 'n Wha-Wha nie. Hy gaan een aanmekaarskroef dan gaan ek hom 'n traai gee en kyk hoe dit werk....
Hoe like julle daai plan?
Ek het laasweek met my vriend Henk Ellis wat die dimmers maak bietjie gebrainstorm om 'n strobe knoppie te fit op sy dimmers...vir daai jakkalse wat nie stop vir 'n Wha-Wha nie. Hy gaan een aanmekaarskroef dan gaan ek hom 'n traai gee en kyk hoe dit werk....
Hoe like julle daai plan?

Ek het vir myself 'n spotlight gemount op my geweer. Ek jag dikwels alleen. Dis moeilik om met die spotlight te spot terwyl hy op die geweer is.
My begroting laat my nie toe vir die lightforce en ander duur spotlights nie- weet nie of hulle maklik/vining aanknip en losgemaak kan word nie.
Wat ek benodig is om met die spotlight met die hand te spot terwyl ek ry en dan vining (sekondes) die spotlight op die geweer te sit/skuif/ haak/vasmaak.
Het enigiemand raad?

My begroting laat my nie toe vir die lightforce en ander duur spotlights nie- weet nie of hulle maklik/vining aanknip en losgemaak kan word nie.

Ek het ook altyd so met die een rifle mount spotlight gewerk en met hand gesoek en as ek iets gewaar vinnig op geweer gemount, maar dit breek jou spoed, kan partykeer ekstra raas ook. Ek het later vir my een van die groter handheld nightstalker ligte gekoop vir n soeklig en hy werk 100%. Ek soek met hom terwyl ek ry en as ek iets sien gebruik ek net die lig op geweer wat reeds reg is, die dimmer is ook op die geweerlig gekoppel.
As jy ernstig is oor die ding, koop ma vir jou n ekstra lig.

Ek gebruik nou al vir 'n jaar of wat 'n Olight MX3 Triton LED flits wat ek op my teleskoop monteer. Die flits skyn ongelooflik en ek kan gemaklik 'n jakkals ID op 230-250m. Die agente is Yuppie Gear in Pretoria en hulle verskaf 'n baie gawe "pakkie" met die flits, teleskoop montering, herlaaibare batterye, laaier en rooi filter wat voor op die flits monteer. Het al die lig gebruik op een of twee oeste wat ek agter gunner was en is baie tevrede.
